Peer Lindgreen, Volume
Peer collaborated with the sculptor James Woodgate for this piece. The sculpture is entitled Volume and is like a mini-photo studio in a box. Its infinity walls and strip lighting mean that you can't judge the depth as you look in, even though you can clearly see the far wall. Magic!

Sorry to put this Nike campaign up here again, but it does look spectacular wrapped around the Imax cinema at Waterloo. AD Guy Featherstone.

Lurzer's Archiv, Best Auto Ads
The new edition of Lurzer's Archiv is a review of the best car ads of the last decade, and it features a lot of work that we did. That's a good excuse to indulge ourselves by showing these classics from the book.
The Land Rover ads are by Nick Georghiou from 2002-2004, Hippo, Masai and Elephant were all written and art directed by Jerry Hollens and Mike Bowles. The VW Touareg in the snow was shot by David Harriman in 2007, the creatives were Peter Heyes and Stephen Woodford. The creatives for the Audi A6 camel from 2005 were Kevin Stark and Nick Kidney, the photographer is Leon Steele. And the Audi A4 is by Jenny van Sommers from 2004, the creatives were Alexandre Veret and Frederic Sounillac. Andy Glass and Chris Frazer Smith also feature.
Adam Hinton, Nike portraits exhibition
Nike are celebrating their Make it Count campaign with an exhibition which opens tonight - huge prints of Adam Hinton's portraits of their athletes. Adam grabbed each athlete just as they'd finished the most gruelling parts of their training routines and caught their expressions at the height of post-training exhaustion, which is the point where many sportspeople claim to feel most exhilarated. The exhibition will be at the 1948 store in Shoreditch for the rest of the month.
Nadege Meriau, New Work
Maybe not the kind of food photography you were expecting after her famous Lurpak ads, but if you've followed her work at the Royal College of Art, it all makes sense! You'll need to click to enlarge the images to see the detail.

Eve Arnold
Eve Arnold passed away yesterday. She was very kind to me when I left Magnum to set up on my own, and I hope she'll be remembered not only as a giant of photojournalism, a pioneer and a force of nature, but also as a wonderful warm person who was thoughtful and generous even to the little people around her - John
Happy New Year
Jason Hindley's agents in Poland printed this as their New Year card. I thought the joke was so bad that it was funny, so I'm sharing it. John's fault, no one else in the office takes responsibility. The images are from a memorable series Jason shot in 2001, the discarded Christmas trees of Islington, and you can see a few more by clicking. Happy New Year everyone!

And a late update - double-page feature on Adam's App in this months AoP Image magazine. Looks like we're not the only ones who love it.

Adam Hinton, Mongolia
Adam's been working on the next stage of his long-term study of societies in transformation. HIs method has been to live with families and document the way that they adjust to enforced change, rather than trying to make an abstract political statement from a distance. Unfortunately we can't show the film on an open-access site because several of the children featured are still vulnerable within their own communities, but you can find out about the project and donate to help War Child continue its extraordinary work.
